Having rounded off 2007 on a high, with remixes for Stakker, Front 242 and the NME-covermounted rework of Bloc Party’s ‘Flux’, PUNX SOUNDCHECK are already pushing things even further in 2008. With lots more high-profile remixes and the imminent release of their second album ‘Black And Gold’ (the follow up to their smash debut album ‘When Machines Ruled The World’), Punx Soundcheck are set for nothing less than world domination this year.
HOTTWERK RECORDS debut 12” release the INFERNO EP sees Punx Soundcheck pushing the boundaries of electronic dance music once again with the gorgeous organ-drenched ‘Sandrien‘, destroying all dancefloors in it’s wake. And they’ve got their sinister new alter-ego CHANTY POE on board too, with first vinyl outing ’Rudeboy’, a breaking, genre-straddling bass-driven monster that twists and writhes amid cut up vocals.
Hottwerk Records guv’nor TOBIAS DOPPELGANGER also gets in on the action and delivers a jacking workout that takes ’Rudeboy’ and straps it down to a 4/4 stomp, joining the dots between minimal, electro and techno.
